![]() Modesty aside, we won the bloody thing,įrom what I saw in the presentations, internal politics are still important so I will present some other notable figures of that time, starting in no particular order. Just a side note: The Siege of Plevna was a extremely important even in which Romania actually played a crucial role. Maybe brave since he led the armies in the independence war at the. Well, if something along the line of ''visionary'' exists in this perks, he should have it. I saw In a screenshot that maybe Victoria III will have some perks for it's leaders. Besides the things I mentioned, there are too many things build in his reign to mention here. He came at a time where the country needed a leader and in his 48 year reign as ''Domnitor'' and afterwards 'King'' he won independence from the Ottomans, acquired the Dobruja region, raised Romania to the status of Kingdom and started a modernization process that modern day politicians are jealous about. Well that's because he is one of the most, if not the most important figures in Romania at that period. Maybe not the smartest move but still first !īy now, you came across the name of '' Carol I''. It was also the first country with an oil refinery and the first city in the world illuminated publicly by kerosene was the capital of the country Bucharest. It was the first country in the world with oil production officially registered by the international statistics (275 tonnes) in 1859, the US had a production of 274 tonnes. Romania's history with oil is pretty rich. And I hope to be able to do this as well in Victoria III. I love playing Victoria II and being the first country to have oil and fuel. The new bridge made by Eiffel was opened in 1877 three days before the Russo-Turkish war (In which Romania also had it's independence war) and is still standing today. The original bridge was opened in 1875 (You can also see it on the GIF) but due to floods it was destroyed. Yes, the architect of the famous tower in Paris, worked on a Bridge in Basarabia. Lastly the last bridge I will talk about is the the Eiffel Bridge at Ungheni, over the Prut river, connecting Moldova with Basarabia. Also the next images will be with the Filaret station, the inauguration and the exterior. The link will send you to Romania's main railway company but a little bit down you will have a proper history, with names, locations, years etc. The GIF bellow will offer you a clear image of how the railways system and borders developed over time. The King himself, Carol I was present at this occasion. It was also the moment Bucharest got it's first railways station. The first railway in Romania opened on 26 August 1869 between Bucharest and the small Danube port of Giurgiu. Romania's railway journey started a little bit later than our western buddies but once It got going it moved like a plague (a good one) through the country. EDIT: I might have wasted to much time on political figures. But if by any chance this helps you, the devs, in adding some ''flavour'' to some smaller countries of the period, I would be a happy camper. Again, I don't expect to be able to scroll down 5 meters above the ground and see if the train locomotive is historically accurate, nor do I want that. railways, bridges, factories ,canals, names, locations, coat of arms etc. I am a realist, I understand that not everything will make it in the game in the end but I decided to share with you some info and photos of Victorian Age Romania. And that the position of the railway was corrected for the upcoming expansion. BUT, I saw a short while ago on the HOI4 forums, a dev happy that he received a map showing a Turkish railway of that period. ![]() Hey guys, like everybody else here I am very excited for Victoria III and most likely I will spend the next period of my life pestering you with question.
